Before you Try to Watch a Web Video

You may want to do some research and find out what type of video software supports the types of video files that you plan to search for and play or download. For instance, some are flash videos, while others are played using an MP3 player or an Apple QuickTime player. You may also find that some will not let you play them unless you sign up for and download a premium (paid) video playing service.

You also want to read the system requirements of each different type of video player that would be supported by your computer. Some video files require a certain amount of free hard drive space, computer memory, and a certain type of operating system. Others may require a broadband internet connection or higher.

You are also fare warned as well that quite often free and even paid video search engines contain in them explicit adult material. If this bothers you, it may be better to search in a different portal or to set your search preferences to excluded anything rated higher than PG (or even lower if you wish).

You can also purchase a content filter which would block out any adult material. This will help you keep the Internet safe for children and teens to view. There are a large variety of different videos that can be watched over the Internet that are appropriate for those age groups.

Each of these materials is rated accordingly. If you would rather not encounter adult material at all and you do not own a content filter you also may be able search in directories that do not list adult movies at all.
